Kalkbrænderihavnen may be Copenhagen’s best marina for visitors – Close to the Sound, Close to the City
Kalkbrænderihavnen is the perfect gateway to Copenhagen for leisure sailors. The marina is just 2 minutes from the Metro, 3 minutes from the harbour bus, and 10 minutes from the S-train.
Kalkbrænderihavnen is an A-harbour under the Free Harbour Scheme and offers 250 berths across 9 jetties. It is a quiet haven in the city, surrounded by modern office buildings.
During the summer, we always have space for guests – look for the green signs on available berths.
You’ll find clean toilets and shower facilities on the ground floor of SKK’s clubhouse, and guests are welcome to use the club’s gas barbecue on the first-floor terrace.
Our harbourmaster is available for practical questions – including gas bottle exchange at a reasonable price.
Club members are friendly and helpful, and we are often told the atmosphere on the jetties is relaxed and welcoming.
On this page, we’ve collected useful links and information for visiting sailors. We look forward to welcoming you.

Harbour History
The harbour is named after two historical lime kilns built in 1731 and 1779. Kalkbrænderihavnen was established in 1895 along with Copenhagen Freeport. Landfills later made room for coal storage and the Nordhavn shipyard.
The Svanemølleværket power station from 1953 is the only preserved older building. The coal crane at the east quay, visible when entering the harbour, is protected as a sculpture and reminder of the area’s industrial past.
Utzon-Designed Clubhouse
The current marina opened in 1999 and is also used as a safe winter harbour. The clubhouse was designed by Kim Utzon. The Utzon family is responsible for several of the area’s buildings, each with a distinct architectural expression.
The Paustian furniture showroom, designed by Jørn Utzon, was the first new building in the area.
